Double Glazed Units
In the trade we say a double glazed sealed unit has broken down. This means that the perimeter edge seal has lost its integrity and that it is letting in moisture somewhere. The moisture is hard to spot at first, sometimes becoming only visible as the sun or another heat source draws the moisture up.

Typically the moisture will be drawn in as the atmospheric pressure changes and it will build up eventually condensing into water inside the sealed unit. This can sometimes look like a fish tank with several inches of water that cannot escape. Whether the seal has failed or the glass is broken we repair and replace all types of Double Glazed Units.

Glass for use in Tring domestic properties typically comes in two varieties; single or double-glazed, with a choice of either float/annealed or toughened glass. Single-glazed windows with float glass can normally be fitted on the same day. Our Tring glaziers are able to replace glass from either the outside or the inside of properties, if the framework allows it. If required, we can source scaffolding and/or lifting vehicles for high glass installations.
